The City of Scottsbluff will be making a few changes to the single stream recycling program in 2016.
Starting in January there will no longer be a charge to participate in the program. All residents and businesses are encouraged to participate. There will be a limited number of containers available and will be handed out on a first come first serve basis. If you would like to participate, please contact Environmental Services at 630-0985 between the hours of 7:30 am - 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Also starting in January, the recycling containers on both the east and west side of the city will be picked up on a weekly basis. This should clear up the scheduling confusion we have had in past years. There are ten (10) scheduled holidays that the City observes during the year. Please note there will be NO pick up on those holiday weeks. Schedules are available at City Hall, Environmental Services, Public Works or at www.scottsbluff.org.
Items can be dropped off at the Environmental Services facility located at 609 E. 2nd St. The facility is open for drop offs occurring between 6:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. At 10:00 a.m., we have the helping hand of clients from Region One. They will assist you with unloading. Everything must be sorted prior to drop off. After hours, we have a recycling building where items can be dropped off.
There are three recycling trailer locations throughout the City where items can be dropped off. Those are:
♦ Panhandle Coop - 401 S. Beltline Highway W.
♦ Regional West Medical Center - 4021 Ave. B
♦ Western NE Community College - 1601 E. 27th St.
The City does accept electronic equipment. Click here for a list of what is accepted.
