The Scottsbluff Public Library Board met at 5:00 p.m. for a special working meeting. Present were Teresa Clark, Rita Brown, Sue Waite, Kristin Wiebe, Library Director Bev Russell, and Foundation Board President John Massey. Steve Viessman was absent. Larry Cooper arrived later.

The meeting focused on the promotional video prepared by Larry Cooper. It was decided that the video needed to be less informational and tug at the heart instead. Discussion focused on the video prepared by the United Way for their recent fundraising campaign. The Library Board will use the video for their presentation at the cultivation receptions in early 2007. The length of time for such a video should be 5 to 8 minutes.

The Board discussed what scenes and information needed to be included in the video. Larry Cooper arrived, and he clarified for the Board the steps, which were necessary to accomplish what they wanted. The Board felt that a greater variety of scenes needed to be included and not so much focus on just one day. There should be scenes of computer usage, families, older adults, teens as well as some comments by John Massey.

Teresa agreed to arrange a time with Larry when other scenes could be video taped.

Sue will contact Sara Frederick about adding some voice over about the library’s importance to teens.

Kristin will look at the binder presentation more closely and provide her thoughts to Rita.

Bev will rework the Power Point presentation and contact Leo Daly about new drawings of the phase one project.

A joint meeting of the Library Board and Foundation Board will be arranged for mid-November to discuss the details surrounding the cultivation receptions and a timeline for them. John will contact the Foundation Board members to find the best time for them.
