Scottsbluff Public Library now has wireless Internet access available.  This service is offered as a courtesy to library users who have their own equipment.  Simply open your browser to connect to the Internet.  No passwords are required and visitors are welcome.

Library users can use their wireless-enabled laptop computers or PDAs to get Internet access throughout most of the building.  The system uses the WiFi standard (also known as IEEE 802.11b and 802.11g).  Connection speed will vary by location and number of users.  Most WiFi equipment will be compatible, however, the Library can make no guarantees as to the compatibility of your equipment with the Library's network.

Printing is not available for wireless users.  If you need to print, you will need to save the data to a floppy, CD-R or flash drive and move to one of the library's public access computers.  There is a $ 0.15 per page charge for printing.

Because of the vast array of wireless cards on the market, library staff will not be able to answer technical questions about your specific card configuration.  The Library cannot guarantee that your equipment will work with the library's network and is not responsible for any changes you make to your computer's settings.

It is solely the responsibility of the wireless device owner/user to provide anti-virus protection, and to configure their laptop/PDA settings to provide the appropriate security settings to control access from other wireless devices within the Library and the Internet itself.  The Scottsbluff Public Library cannot take responsibility for incorrect, insufficient or incomplete security settings, or lack of adequate or up-to-date virus protection.  Wireless users assume all risks in this regard.

The Library assumes no responsibility for damage, theft, or loss of any kind to a user's equipment, software, data files or other personal property brought into or used at the Library.

Attention: The Library's Internet Use Policy also applies to wireless users.
