	The Planning Division manages long range and current planning issues facing the community. The Department staff is called upon to work in several different areas of planning including land use planning, transportation planning, historic preservation, and the development of city codes to improve the community’s general appearance. Specifically, the Planning Division reviews potential development opportunities to ensure compliance with zoning, setback, parking, landscaping, access and other City requirements. Staff works directly with the Planning Commission on rezoning and plats and with the Board of Adjustment on variances. The Department also coordinates all site plan review and development in general.
