Carpenter Park is a long, narrow park located just north of Scottsbluff High School between the school and U.S. 26.  The park is named for Terry Carpenter, a long-time resident of Scottsbluff who was elected as a United States Congressman and several terms to the Nebraska Unicameral.  The neighboring town of Terrytown was named for Mr. Carpenter.  The park provides picnic areas, picnic shelters, lighted tennis courts, a walking path, a baseball diamond associated with the 23 Club, and is handicap-accessible.
