In the year 2000 a proposal for a dog park was brought to the City of Scottsbluff.  After review, the Park & Cemetery Foundation, along with the City Council approved the concept in 2003.  The city would not be able to budget for this project, but donations and community support have brought the park to fruition!

A ground breaking ceremony was held on July 7th, 2005 and the ground was cleared by volunteers shortly after.  The fence was installed and the ground was leveled and covered with sand, mulch and rock.  Almost all materials (except the fence) were donated by area businesses.

The park is surrounded by a 6’ fence and is divided into two sections: a slightly larger one for group play (for those who play nicely with others) and a smaller section for individual play (small, old or aggressive dogs).   A double gated entry  allows you to enter either section upon arrival.

Rules are posted just before you enter the park and must be obeyed.  Individuals who violate these rules are subject to a citation.

The park is located in Riverside Park (behind the zoo) between the campground and Monument Valley Pathways.  It is free of charge but is open during daylight hours only.
