PRIORITY PROGRAMS

 

TRAINING: Training opportunities in forensic interviewing and medical examination procedures are both identified and sponsored by the Center.

LEGISLATION: CAPstone is collaborating with other Child Advocacy Centers in the state to work closely with the Legislature in offering legislation on child victimization.

REFERRAL SERVICES: CAPstone collaborates with Regional Mental Health Services to identify therapists who are trained and willing to counsel with children and their families.  The consortium of therapists are committed to improving the opportunities for discovery from the trauma of abuse.

REPORTING: According to Nebraska State Statute 28.11:"Any person who has reasonable cause to believe that a child has been subjected to any type of abuse or neglect must by law contact their local law enforcement or Dept. of Health and Human Services.  Failure to report could result in being charged with a Class 3 misdemeanor."
