Anyone with information about illegal activity or suspected perpetrators is encouraged to call National Crime Stoppers on the toll free nujber 1-800-333-0000.

The Crime Stoppers number is staffed between 7am and 12am Monday to Friday and 8am to 8pm on weekends.  Outside these hours there is a recorded message.

As a result of intelligence received by Crime Stoppers, 2891 people have been arrested with more than 8822 charges laid and $7.4 million worth of stolen property and $61 million dollars worth of drugs seized. In addition, 31 homicides, 146 assaults, 234 armed robberies, 92 sexual offenses have been solved as a direct result of information given to Crime Stoppers.

If anyone has information about someone wanted by police or a person they know has committed a crime but has not been arrested, they can contact Scotts Bluff County Crime Stoppers at 632-STOP(7867).

Crime Stoppers International
   Crime Stoppers began in Albuquerque, New Mexico in September of 1976. Members of the local community, in partnership with the media and law enforcement, began an effort to provide crime-solving assistance to law enforcemtent.

A cash reward was offered to anonymous persons who telephoned the Crime Stoppers hot line with information which led to the arrest and indictment of the person(s) responsible for felony offenses.

The Crime Stoppers program has enjoyed great success boasting an average conviction rate of 95% on cases solved by Crime Stoppers' tips. The Crime Stoppers programs worldwide have solved over a million crimes and recovered 3 billion dollars worth of stolen property and narcotics.

Today, there are over 1,000 Crime Stoppers programs in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa, Bahamas, British West Indies, Micronesia, and other nations.
