The
front line troops of the Scottsbluff Police Department
are the "street officers." When the public needs some
help, they call for these men and women in
blue.
The job
of the Patrol Officer involves
responsibility for the enforcement of laws and
ordinances, prevention and detection of crime,
prevention and control of fires, and protection of the
general welfare of the citizens of the City.
Auto accidents,
lost materials, burglary,
forgery, lost persons, safe driving, and general
overseeing of the city are the day-to-day activities of
your patrol officers.
How can
you be of assistance in helping the city run smoother?
Obey the laws, report suspicious circumstances and
crimes immediately. Prompt reporting helps you, your
police department, and the community.
If
you have witnessed a crime or have knowledge of a crime
and don't want to get involved, you can help by calling
Crime Stoppers 632-STOP.
In
addition to their regular duties, Patrol Officers
volunteer for the Bike Patrol, WING, DARE, SWAT Team,
MIP Taskforce, Hostage Negotiation, and as Field
Training Officers.
