The CodeRED® Emergency Notification System is an extremely Fast Communication Service available for mass Emergency Notifications. CodeRED® employs a one-of-a-kind Internet mapping capability for geographic targeting of calls, coupled with a high speed telephone calling system capable of delivering customized pre-recorded emergency messages directly to homes and businesses, live individuals and answering machines, at the rate of up to 60,000 calls per hour. CodeRED® allows us to control our emergency broadcasts locally via a secure Internet Portal.
CodeRED messages are broadcast during incidents and emergencies. We have a databank of all telephone numbers in Scotts Bluff County. However, we do not use unlisted numbers without permission from telephone owner and we do not have a listing of cell phone numbers. Many individuals have removed all land lines and rely solely on cell phones.
We ask you to click on the hyperlink on the Home Page for Scotts Bluff County or City of Gering, and the residents page for City of Scottsbluff to give us permission to call you during an incident or disaster at your unlisted number or cell phone number. The instructions for doing this are attached to the CodeRED form. The system is only as good as the number of people that receive the incident or disaster message. We greatly appreciate your efforts to make the City of Scottsbluff a safer place to live.
