Preschool Story Time on Thursdays (September-May)
Preschool story times are from 10:00-10:30 and 6:15-6:45 every Thursday in the Lied Scottsbluff Public Library meeting room.  Story time is geared primarily to children between 2 and 6 years of age.  However, because the rate of growth and development varies greatly, we encourage parents to determine their child’s readiness for story time.  No advance registration is necessary and there is no fee.

“100 Best Books” Reading Wall for Children
The “100 Best Books” reading wall for children is to encourage young readers to read some amazingly well-written children’s books, as well as serve as an incentive to promote literacy and reading to children.  Each reader who completes the “100 Best Books” reading list will receive either a “100 Best Books Champion Reader” bumper sticker or yard sign.

Kinder-carding
All Scottsbluff Kindergartners are given a personalized invitation to visit the library and sign up for their first library card.  Youth staff give one-on-one tours and prizes to Kindergartners when they receive their library card.  All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when registering for a library card.

Teacher Totes
Area teachers, early childhood educators, and homeschool instructors may notify the library of an upcoming unit on a topic, theme, or subject.  Children's services staff will gather books, audiobooks, and DVDs for teachers to pick up.  Submit a teacher tote form to dcarlson@scottsbluff.org.

Board Game Club
Board Game Club is an all-ages program the third Saturday of each month from 12:00-4:30. Anyone is welcome to join in the meeting room at the library to try out new board games, or enjoy old favorites. No registration or library card necessary.

 Special Events
The library hosts many special events for children, including but not limited to a special Halloween story time and an annual Christmas event.  “Like” us on Facebook for special event announcements.
